What just happened?
June 2, 2009
Hi All…
Well that was exciting and strange! After being featured on Swagbucks.com last week we saw our hits soar to a new level. In fact on that first day we received 2000% of our regular traffic. Then it all went black…
One of the last things we did that exciting Thursday was to check our stats.
We ended on just over 8000 visits. We were very happy. We went to sleep proud.
When we woke up the next day and flicked the computer switch we were shocked and dismayed to find that our beloved We Love Swag Bucks blog had been removed from wordpress.com. The thoughtful folks at Swagbucks.com now had a link to a dead site.
It turns out that wordpress.com considers any site which uses referrals to be a ‘get rich quick scheme’ and while it had no problem with a blog receiving around 500 hits a day, 8000 was another story…
Well we mustered every available resource, scrounged through backups and cached web pages and rebuilt from the ground up at a new stable domain.
Here we are at www.we-love-swag-bucks.com. We hope it’s permanent.
There may be some pains while we get the site back to what it was originally. There are still a few missing posts and comments but we’re working around the clock to get fully restored. Rest assured that all of our Swag Tips have been reposted and we will continue to bring you your fill of Swag Code Hints.
Thanks for sticking by us during a rocky weekend. It is our sincere hope that everyone can find their way to the new site, so if you have a minute, spread the word. And thanks to our pals at Swagbucks.com for their support and overall chummyness. This is a true labour of love.
