Can you guys explain the phenomenon known as “unnatural searching”, which caused a small number of Swagbucks accounts to be deactivated last week. Is Swagbucks just getting so big that’s it becoming more and mor difficult to share the wealth, so to speak, on the Swagbucks-per-day ratio (if indeed such a ratio exists)?

As we understand it, unnatural searching is the opposite of natural searching. Swag Bucks is intended to be used as a search engine that rewards you, not a rewards engine that searches. Typing in nonsense just to perform a search depreciates the effectiveness of what Swag Bucks does (with respect to collection of search data) and therefor their ability to provide a service to their clients and to us, the Swag Bucks users.
We’ve seen Swag Bucks double in size again and again and there has never been a cut back on how much wealth they share. Quite to the contrary the Swag Bucks team is making more and more great prizes and opportunities available to the Swaggernauts that got them to where they are.
As for a Swag-Bucks-per-day ratio… we haven’t seen it. With our Swag Bucks success our amount of Swag Bucks per day climbs ever higher.
      Hope this helps.

Let’s say I visit the same sites each day: e-mail account, favorite blogs, forums, news updates, etc. Formerly, I would have entered each search term in Google and accessed those sites via those search links. Swagbucks comes along, offering reward points for doing what you’re doing anyway — searching. Okay, sounds good. Would you consider these daily searches nonsense? One example I saw on the FAQ was searching for letters of the alphabet. That I agree is consider nonsense. But a daily search for “DVD forum” or “yahoo mail”, for which I legitimately follow through the links and access the intended site — nonsense? Who knows, it could just be a glitch. I e-mailed Compliance a week ago but haven’t received a response. My SB total, visible on my Swidget, has increased each day from my referrals, which I finding perplexing. There’s another member who mentioned on the blog that “unnatural searching” was given as his explanation, so I’m just trying to narrow down possibilities until I hear back from Swagbucks (It’s been 5 business days since I e-mailed them, so I may just make a new query).

          Hi again Scott,
I mentioned your question to The Swag Guy who assures me that searching for sites you visit frequently does NOT constitute “unnatural searching” nor should it result in deactivation. Unnatural searching only refers to what I mentioned above, and also an overzealous amount of searching. Typically, if you are searching too often you will be redirected to the rules page.
Continue to email the Swag Bucks team. They are fair and understanding and I am sure they will straighten everything out with your account.
          Good luck!

No go. Not yet, anyway. I sent a second query regarding my account, but still no response. I did mention that my Swidget Swagbucks total was increasing each day, though that no longer shows any total at all. Is there a different email address I should try? Their Compliance@ is offering no assistance at all, so I’m doubtful as to their being “fair and understanding” in the matter.

Sorry you are having problems. Try contacting customer support at support@swagbucks.com. You can also try contacting the Swag Guy at theswagguy@swagbucks.com although Swag Bucks suggests that this is only for urgent matters. But since you are not receiving a response from compliance, and it does have to do with deactivation, I’d say that this is urgent. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
