Swag Code Hunt in effect

July 22, 2009

swaghunt EXPIRED: Hi All…

A Swag Code hunt has been announced on the Swag Bucks blog:

You’re looking a hidden code in the detail page of one of the items on the Discover New Music page of the Swag Store.

Here’s the link to the Discover New Music:

The clues given by the Swag Bucks team are:

a) This artist is from Portland, ORE

b) This artist frequently records and tours with Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley and Cat Power.

c) This artist performed live on Craig Kilborn’s tv show playing guitar for Bright Eyes (a performance which prompted a Newsweek article to be published on this artist)

That last clue is a dead give away.  In fact you may want to perform this interesting Swag Bucks search:

An interesting search indeed!

  1. Copy the code (it’s case sensitive)
  2. Go to http://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-swagbucks
  3. Paste it in the ‘Enter Your Swag Code’ box and click GIMME!

Good luck!  Let us know if you got it.

You’re on the right track Dustin, but “Rave On” is not the code.

Remember the hints said that the code was in the details of the item. Also, while the words “Rave On” are in quotes, they break the Swag Code rules by having a space in between the words.
When you entered this code, it should tell you that it is not a valid code. This means keep hunting! If it’s expired you will be told so. If you get it, you will be told so. All other messages mean keep trying!

      Good luck!

So I’m pretty sure I’m on track with the artist, but maybe I have the wrong song…? I’ve clicked on the the photo for the song, which brings me to a page with more information/details. However, the only thing I see in quotes on that page is the song title, “Nikorette.” I’ve looked around for a different song by the artist hinted at in the clues, but couldn’t find another on the Discover New Music page…

    Hi All,
A lot of confusion still about Swag Codes.
I highly suggest you head over to our tutorial Swag Code 101 and study it to prepare for the next Swag Code hunt.
And remember, absolutely no posting of codes is allowed. I let the above guesses appear in the hopes that, as examples, they may help other people with Swag Codes in general.
The golden rule is this: If you get a message that tells you the Swag Code you are trying is invalid… that means keep trying! The code is likely still out there. You will be told if you got it right (conswagulations!)or if it is expired (you got it right but were too late).
