Proof (New Year’s Edition)

January 5, 2010

Hi All…

We haven’t put up a Proof post in a while.  When the gift card limit came into effect at the beginning of November we had to reassess how we were going to continue with our gift cards.  We’re still figuring out what works best for us.  At any rate, we thought it would be a good time to update everyone on how we’re doing, seeing as it was almost exactly one year ago that we discovered and signed up for Swag Bucks.  Our hope was to win enough Swag Bucks to get a $5 Amazon.com gift card (they didn’t have .ca cards yet) each month.  At the end of the year we would have earned $60!  Well after our first month we did in fact earn enough Swag Bucks for one Amazon.com gift card, but with a little effort our Swag Bucks winnings have surprised even us.

So… here is our latest Proof post to show everyone how Swag Bucks is working for us.  We had made this a regular feature, posting updates in the middle and end of each month.  Lately however, we’ve noticed that our History area in our My Swag Bucks section of our account is only showing the latest dozen or so redeemed prizes.  Therefore we’ve made a screen capture of our Order Status page, so you can see everything we’ve ever redeemed.  The image is a bit bigger so please be patient.

For those of you who are on the fence about Swag Bucks, this is for you.

We know we talk a lot about how rewarding, easy and fun Swag Bucks is but the proof is in the pudding.

Here is a screenshot of our account as of today, January 5, 2010 (One year after signing up for Swag Bucks), showing how many Swag Bucks we have and how many we have traded in for our gift certificates (click image for full size).   Again, be patient, these images are getting absolutely enormous!

proof100105If you click on the image above for a full sized version you can see that since we started in January 2009, we have redeemed enough Swag Bucks to receive 193 $5 Amazon Gift Cards, 2 $25 Amazon Gift Cards, and 4 $50 Amazon Gift Cards and we currently have almost enough points for another $50 card.  Before you get your calculators out, that’s $1215  worth of free books (or whatever else you fancy at Amazon.com) not including the $50 card we’re near to getting.  The Swagstakes entries were bought with our miscellaneous Swag Bucks from other search and win sites.

$1215 in Amazon gift cards!!!

If this isn’t enough to get you clambering for a Swagbucks.com account maybe you’ll be persuaded by the following facts:

  • We achieved this doing what we would have done anyway.  Namely searching and social interacting.
  • We have not received one piece of junk mail due to joining Swagbucks.com
  • We love Swag Bucks so dang much that we made this whole blog just to shout it from the rooftops and to help others increase their rewards, find Swag Codes and just plain share the love.

So if you’d like to start earning real world prizes and gift certificates by doing exactly what you currently do every day sign up with our super special love-filled link

Have fun!

Okay, first off…how in the world have you gotten soooo many Swag Bucks?!? I have been doing Swag Bucks for about 3 months now, and can’t even comprehend all that you have earned! It seems like I can never get and keep more than that in my account… Any tips for someone trying to get to where you guys are??

    Thanks much!

Wish I could earn that many! Nice job! :) I can never get anyone to sign up under me, even when I show them my free stuff!

Do you ever win the swagstakes? I would love to see some stats on that. I can never decide if it’s worth it to enter or if I should just save the bucks for Amazon gift cards since that is a for sure thing!

THAT IS A LOT!!! I wish I could get that many. I’m trying to get an Ipod touch with Amazon cards, but so far I only have $15 dollars worth at Amazon…I’m not going very fast. I can’t get ANY referals…I have one, but she doesn’t use the account. :( I am thankful for what I have gotten so far. I am close to getting my 4th Amazon…13 away..

    Hi Everyone,
Let’s shed a little light on the mystery of how we’ve achieved this.

When we started a year ago it was slow going. About 3 to 5 SB a day from searching and Swag Codes. We quickly realized that referrals would be the way to get more Swag Bucks.

Let me clear something up for the haters out there. Swag Bucks tells its users to promote their referral links. In fact they dedicate two big parts of the Swag Bucks site to help people promote themselves. The Invite Friends page is located here: http://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-refer
and the Promotion Banner page is located here: http://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-promote

So the big question is how have we been so successful in promoting our referral link? Since we started out we have tried to be very active in the Swag Bucks community. We got lots of referrals by answering questions on Yahoo answers (we posted our link for people who were reading but had not signed up). We made this blog and offered tips and Swag Code hints. Word got out, search engines picked us up, and people signed up through our link.

We’ve never made any of this a secret. Quite the opposite. If you read through our blog and the comments you will see that we tell people that referrals are the key to big Swag Bucks. We’ve stated before the breakdown of our earnings, and so you don’t have to search it goes something like this:
    Swag bucks earned from
    Searching: 8%
    Swag Codes: 2%
    Referrals: 90%

We’re not, nor have we ever been, telling people that if they sign up with Swag Bucks that they WILL get thousands of dollars in Amazon cards. What we have said, and continue to say, is that if you sign up with Swag Bucks you CAN get thousands of dollars in Amazon cards.

We’ve never HID our referral link on the page. If you’ve read the Swag Bucks site you’ll know that the banners are readily available to all Swag Bucks users to place on their own blogs, or social networking pages for the purpose of getting referrals. In fact if you read the post above, we simply ask kindly to CONSIDER using our link. We’re not tricking anyone… We’re just ordinary people like all Swaggernauts, and we haven’t done anything that any of you great folks couldn’t do… Many people won’t start a blog or put time into the community or promotion… but it doesn’t mean they can’t. Many people want it to be fast and easy, but it takes some time. With Swag Bucks you get back what you put in. We’ve put in a bunch and got a bunch in return.

We hope this helps answer some questions. Maybe we’ll make a main post about this since we get a lot of people asking.

We reallly do love Swag Bucks, and we love all the thousands of people who read our blog each day. We hope we’ve helped you get some extra Swag Bucks here and there and that we’ve been able to clear up some of the mysteries of Swag Bucks. Above all, we hope we’ve inspired you to make your own Swag Bucks blog, or to think of a brand new way to promote your own referral link.

    We love you guys.

    Good luck!

Nicely said. And thanks for the clarification. It’s nice to know that your rewards are due to your strong efforts! Proof that even with “free” stuff, you get out what you put in!

Great work and great site. Thanks so much.
