Post Birthday Month in Review

April 2, 2010

Hi All…

At the end of February we all got a big surprise on Swag Buck’s second birthday.  We woke up to see our Swag Buck totals increased by a factor of 10.  TSG also made the bold statement that the new denominations would mean more Swag Bucks for the users.

There has been much discussion since that day about what this means to Swaggernauts.  A lot of folks think it’s been a ploy to give out fractional Swag Bucks and therefor decrease our earning power.  We admit that we were on the fence about the new Swag Bucks denominations but we reserved our judgment until we had some actual numbers to look at, and we’re pleased to bring you good news.

Over the month of March we’ve been tracking each day exactly how many Swag Bucks we earn through searching, through Swag Codes, and through referrals.  We remember what we were earning before the big change so we can make an easy comparison.

Here are our results for the first full month after the big change (note that these numbers are in “new Swag Bucks”):

        March 2010         Before the change
Total SB from searching
916
680 (ave)
Average per day SB from searching
29
22
Total SB from Swag Codes
491
240 (ave)
Average per day SB from Swag Codes
16
8

As you can see, our daily search earnings are, as a average, up about 30% compared to our monthly pre-change search earnings.  Furthermore, our daily Swag Code earnings have doubled!  If you consider that all our (and your :) ) referrals are also earning more… well it all adds up.

So… the change is a welcome one.  We’re happy, and we hope you all are experiencing similar boosts in your Swag Bucks.  Leave a comment and let us know how you are doing since the big change.

How have you factored in your number of referrals pre & post? And whether their activity levels have changed?

One thing that I seem to have noticed is that now that I do the special offers every day and get a couple every day when I first open my browser for having the toolbar installed, I don’t seem to win as many by searching. I have only had four rewards for searching that have been greater than 10 swagbucks in the last three weeks. :( Not even mega Fridays seem to make a difference.

I does seem as though if I take advantage of those “sure things” then my “random rewards” are being lowered accordingly.

We actually have not figured our referrals into the above numbers. We are basing our numbers on our pre-referrall wins.

I have been winning higher denomination because of the swag bucks tool bar, thank you!
